This course will teach you how ERISA law works and the impact on personal injury, worker's compensation and social security cases. You will hear examples of real cases teaching you what you need to know to deal with ERISA liens asserted by health care plans, and ERISA plans and how to deal with offsets from worker's compensation disability benefits and social security benefits.

• How to recognize whether a personal injury lien is legitimate under ERISA law and what to do with it in such a situation.
• How to deal with ERISA long term disability carriers when they ask for repayment of the ERISA long term disability benefits out of your clients worker's compensation and social security cases?
• What kinds of cases fall outside of ERISA law so that liens on personal injury cases don't have to be honored?
• Can the health care plan sue me or my client when we ignore them and don't pay them back?
