Cases of children resisting contact with a parent post-separation pose significant risks of harm for children and continue to be one of the most challenging for family justice system professionals. There is continuing controversy about how to understand and respond to these cases both clinically and legally. This plenary will highlight the research evidence on parent-child contact problems and provide attorneys and judicial officers with practical tips and tools for managing these complex cases for more effective solutions.
