This session should help the average Family Law practitioner navigate Juvenile Courts and provide information on how and when the two worlds intersect. Attendees should also learn the language of Juvenile Courts and how they can best advocate for their client in that world.

Learning objectives:

• When and how Children's Division and the Juvenile Office become involved with and take protective custody of children;
• When and whether you should be present in informal proceedings when your client is a parent of an involved youth;
• What the delinquency world is and how to best represent parents who may also be involved with Family Court while their child is involved in delinquency proceedings;
• Custody Orders entered in Juvenile Court - Modifying them later.
