Breakout 9 | Creating a dream team: Collaborative law (qualifies for 1.0 ethics hour)

After a brief overview of the collaborative process, this session will describe the professional teamwork required to most effectively assist clients through the collaborative process in order to achieve optimal outcomes. The focus will be on the formation of the team and the benefit each profession brings to the family. We will discuss how the team can work together from the screening of the family for appropriateness to concluding the negotiation process. This will include the paradigm shift required by lawyers, the ethical nuances of working in a collaborative interdisciplinary process and how collaborative process tools may (and may not) be used to assist families who are not in the collaborative process.
